Roles and Responsibilities

The key responsibilities include:

• Lead, grow and mentor a team of senior and junior developers
• Own delivery of business solutions on the Sernova file transformation framework (Java/Groovy) and Calypso enhancements in Java
• Enhance the Client Web Portal, across front end and back end
• Contribute to engineering best practives TDD, code reviews and CI/CD pipelines on Azure DevOps
• Contribute to development and testing processes and keep them well documented
• Partner with Product, Operations and business to simplify support and resolve production issues safely and on time

Skills and Specifications

The following skills and specifications are required in a candidate:

• BEng / Master’s or MCA in Computing
• 12+ years in software development, including at least 3 years leading a development team
• Strong, current knowledge of Java 17+, Groovy and Spring / Spring Boot, with the ability to review designs, guide implementation decisions and coach developers
• Current hands-on Java development, JUnit / Spock, Mockito, Git and Maven, Angular knowledge a plus
• Working knowledge of microservices architecture
• A practitioner’s commitment to SOLID, design patterns, clean code and TDD
• A proactive approach and willingness to work within a shift pattern
